Paradise Campground on the McKenzie River is an amazing place. Beautiful campground right next to the roaring river. Great mountain biking trails, hiking and river rafting. We had a crazy heat wave while camped at Paradise. Sitting with our feet in the river or rafting was the best way to beat the heat.
Why We Picked Paradise Campground: Great location, an easy distance from Bend for a short weekend. World class mountain biking trail right along the McKenzie River.
Location: Willamette National Forest, this small campground has a variety of sites, with the best locations right on the river. Close to the Willamette Rangers office.
Sites: Sites vary in size and all for smaller rigs. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table and plenty of space between sites. We fit our 30’ in with no problem, but noticed that some of the sites would be too small or too steep to level our rig easily. The sound of the river can cover the noise between campsites. Campground is shady and not a good candidate for solar.
Facilities: Bathrooms scattered around the campground are clean and well maintained. Water is available around the campground. No showers available onsite. Boat launch onsite and a common river front area that all campers can use to access the river.
Groceries: Small store in Blue River with very basic set of supplies.
Reservations: Yes, Reserve America
Cell Coverage / Wifi: Limited. We had 1-2 bars of Verizon with a booster.
Price Paid: $21
Date of Visit: August 2016
Would We Come Again: Absolutely – we try to make a visit every year.
